The premise
Seattle, USA, 1999. At the demand of MEG, a camera crew investigates the strange course of events that brought STEVEN H., her boyfriend, to be hospitalized. Steven's condition is serious. His body has been severely lacerated by an unknown assailant. The doctors think it could be a wild animal, or maybe even a man with extremely long and hard nails. Steven is also suffering from a mysterious infection that spreads inside him at an alarming speed...

When Seattle resident Meg enlists a documentary crew to piece together what happened to her hospitalised boyfriend Steven, they uncover a trail of strange events pointing toward something far darker than a random attack. Steven's body bears horrific wounds that defy easy explanation, and an infection spreading through him resists all medical understanding. Filmed in a mockumentary style, The Black Door builds its dread slowly through interviews, footage, and a creeping sense that some doors are better left closed. Low-budget and raw, it leans hard into atmosphere over spectacle.
