The premise
Six young criminals break into hidden catacombs underneath their town and attempt to steal jewelry buried from the "Great Depression" only to find inhabitants guarding the precious belongings. After being trapped in this dark maze of crypts the group tries to escape alive.

When a crew of small-time criminals sneaks into a network of buried catacombs in search of Depression-era jewelry, they quickly realize the dead don't give up their treasures without a fight. What begins as a straightforward heist descends into a desperate struggle for survival as something ancient and territorial lurks in the darkness below. The labyrinthine tunnels offer no easy exits, and the group must battle both their surroundings and each other's nerves to stand any chance of making it out. Low-budget and unrelenting, The Crypt delivers underground dread for fans who like their horror mean and claustrophobic.
