“Only Hell could breed such an enormous beast... Only God could destroy it!”
Directed by Ray Kellogg
The premise
A small town in Texas finds itself under attack from a hungry, fifty-foot-long gila monster. No longer content to forage in the desert, the giant lizard begins chomping on motorists and train passengers before descending upon the town itself. Only Chase Winstead, a quick-thinking mechanic, can save the town from being wiped out.
Horror Vault's take
When a monstrous, oversized gila monster emerges from the Texas desert with an appetite for destruction, the quiet locals of a small town suddenly find themselves in its path. Motorists and train passengers fall prey before the creature sets its sights on the town itself. Standing between total annihilation and survival is Chase Winstead, a resourceful young mechanic with more grit than firepower. This late-'50s creature feature delivers classic B-movie thrills in a sun-scorched Texas setting.
