In a desolate medieval kingdom, a solitary warrior spends his days riding through snow-dusted wilderness and collecting the heads of the monsters he slays — all except the one that shattered his world. Driven by years of grief and unrelenting obsession, he pursues a chance at revenge that has eluded him since the death of his daughter. The film is a lean, largely wordless exercise in atmosphere and dread, letting its bleak landscapes and grim imagery do the heavy lifting. When the long-awaited reckoning finally arrives, it carries consequences far darker than simple justice.
