The premise
When ants, displaying never-before-seen behavior, seize an island, the controversial Thorax Team is called in to stop the massive threat, only to discover that the ants are controlled by something beyond this world.

A remote island is overrun by a colossal ant swarm exhibiting behavior no entomologist has ever encountered, prompting the deployment of the unconventional Thorax Team — specialists in extreme pest control. What begins as a brutal containment mission quickly escalates when the team realizes the colony's coordinated aggression hints at a sinister force pulling the strings from somewhere far beyond the natural world. Part creature-feature chaos, part extraterrestrial mystery, The Hive pits a ragtag crew of exterminators against an enemy that defies every rule of biology.
