The premise
After an unjust 16-year prison sentence, Dolores Roach returns to a gentrified Washington Heights, where she reunites with an old stoner friend, Luis, who lets her live and work as a masseuse in the basement under his empanada shop. When the promise of her newfound stability is quickly threatened, “Magic Hands” Dolores is driven to shocking extremes to survive.

Fresh out of prison after sixteen years, Dolores Roach comes home to a Washington Heights she barely recognizes — her neighborhood swallowed up by gentrification and her options razor-thin. She carves out a fragile new life in the basement of an old friend's empanada shop, trading massages for shelter, until forces beyond her control push her toward increasingly extreme choices. Equal parts pitch-black comedy and visceral thriller, this series tracks one woman's descent as she fights to hold onto the little she has left. Based on a cult-favorite podcast, it's a twisted survival story rooted in very real social anxieties.
