The premise
Jozef visits a dilapidated Sanatorium to see his father. Jozef undertakes a strange journey through the many rooms of the sanatorium, each which conjures worlds composed of his memories, dreams and nightmares.

A son travels to a crumbling sanatorium to visit his ailing father, only to find himself lost in a labyrinthine world where the boundaries between memory, dream, and waking life dissolve entirely. Each room he enters opens onto a different reality — haunted by the past, distorted by longing, and shadowed by dread. Polish director Wojciech Has crafts a hypnotic fever-dream drawn from the surrealist fiction of Bruno Schulz, immersing the viewer in imagery that feels both deeply personal and profoundly strange. This is horror as existential poetry, less concerned with shock than with the slow terror of a self unravelling.
