The premise
On a night just like any other, a minibus full of passengers drives through a tunnel and arrives in another dimension; the eclectic group of passengers seek refuge in a deserted cafe and make a horrific discovery.

When a late-night minibus emerges from an ordinary tunnel, its mismatched passengers find themselves stranded in a version of Hong Kong that feels catastrophically wrong. With no explanation and no way back, the group hunkers down in an abandoned cafe only to confront something deeply unsettling about their new surroundings. Part midnight-movie fever dream and part social allegory, the film blends dark comedy with escalating dread as the survivors struggle to hold themselves together. Hong Kong filmmaker Fruit Chan delivers a genre-defying ride that is as politically charged as it is unnerving.
