The premise
Given the country's overcrowded prisons, the U.S. government begins to allow 12-hour periods of time in which all illegal activity is legal. During one of these free-for-alls, a family must protect themselves from a home invasion.

In a near-future America where crime is at an all-time low, the government sanctions one lawless night each year — a twelve-hour window where any act, including murder, is fully legal. A wealthy family retreats behind their fortified home's security systems, confident they can ride out the chaos safely. But when a stranger's desperate plea for help arrives at their door, their carefully maintained walls — physical and moral — are put to the ultimate test. What follows is a suffocating home-invasion thriller that forces its characters to confront what they're truly capable of.
