The premise
When two bumbling employees at a medical supply warehouse accidentally release a deadly gas into the air, the vapors cause the dead to rise again as zombies.

A pair of hapless warehouse workers crack open a canister they absolutely should have left alone, unleashing a toxic gas that kick-starts a very bad night for everyone in the neighborhood — including a group of punk kids partying in a nearby cemetery. Dan O'Bannon's cult classic reinvents the zombie myth with razor-sharp dark comedy, a pounding punk-rock soundtrack, and ghouls who are smarter and hungrier than anything George Romero imagined. Equal parts gross-out horror and anarchic laughs, this is the film that asked the immortal question: why do zombies crave brains?
