In a quiet New England town, a hearing-impaired young woman suddenly gains the ability to hear, speak, and heal others following what appears to be a divine visitation — drawing pilgrims, scrutiny, and something far darker in equal measure. A disgraced journalist arrives chasing the story of a lifetime, only to find that the line between miracle and malevolence is disturbingly thin. As inexplicable and frightening events mount around the growing congregation, the true nature of the force behind Alice's gifts comes increasingly into question. The Unholy wraps its supernatural dread in a cloak of religious ambiguity, asking whether blind devotion can itself become a weapon.
