A covert team operates in the shadows, tasked with tracking down alien artefacts and entities that slip through the cracks of an unsuspecting world. Equal parts science fiction and dark thriller, Torchwood pushes its investigators into morally complex territory where the line between protector and predator blurs. The show carves out a distinctly adult tone from its genre roots, with individual episodes ranging from creeping dread to outright horror.
