The premise

A thirsty teenager's home video leads to a series of horrifying revelations, harkening back to the final punk rock analog days of VHS, while taking one giant leap forward into the hellish new millennium.

Horror Vault's take

Set against the grimy, static-soaked backdrop of 1999, this entry in the V/H/S anthology series delivers a collection of found-footage shorts united by the raw, DIY energy of the era's dying punk and analog culture. Each tape peels back a different layer of depravity, from backyard stunts gone catastrophically wrong to encounters with forces no camcorder was ever meant to capture. The millennial countdown ticks closer as the stories escalate in dread and carnage, making the turn of the century feel less like a celebration and more like a reckoning.
