The premise
A Korean horror film about an adopted young boy with a strange link to an old, dead acacia tree. As the boy settles in to his new home, the tree comes to life. When the family who adopted him becomes pregnant, he is to go back to the orphanage, and horror ensues.

A Korean slow-burn horror centred on a troubled young boy whose mysterious bond with a gnarled acacia tree seems to awaken something ancient and dangerous. When a family takes him in, strange occurrences begin to creep through their home — rooted, it seems, in the tree that should by all rights be dead. As domestic tensions rise and the boy's place in the family is threatened, the horror quietly tightens its grip. Acacia blurs the line between supernatural dread and the very human cruelties hidden inside a household.
