When a family getaway turns unexpectedly eerie, a mild-mannered artist and his skeptical wife bring in a self-styled professional exorcist to deal with whatever is lurking in their mountain retreat. What starts as a quirky haunted-house fix-it job gradually shifts into something far more uncomfortable, as the eccentric ghost hunter's presence begins to feel like its own kind of threat. The film balances genuine dread with cringe-worthy social awkwardness, mining laughs and unease from the same uneasy source. It's a ghost story less interested in spectacle than in the slow horror of being trapped with the wrong person.
