The premise
An 18th century African prince is turned into a vampire while visiting Transylvania. Two centuries later, he rises from his coffin attacking various residents of Los Angeles and meets Tina, a woman who he believes is the reincarnation of his deceased wife.
Horror Vault's take
A proud African prince is cursed by Dracula himself and sealed away for two centuries, only to resurface in 1970s Los Angeles where the modern city becomes his hunting ground. When he encounters a woman who bears an uncanny resemblance to his lost love, obsession and tragedy begin to intertwine with the bloodshed. Blending blaxploitation style with Gothic vampire mythology, the film grounds its horror in a deeply human longing that makes its monster unexpectedly sympathetic. William Marshall commands every scene with a magnetic, Shakespearean presence that elevates the material far beyond its B-movie trappings.
