The premise
Fuad Ramses and his family have moved from the United States to France, where they run a American diner. Since business is not going too well, Fuad also works night shifts in a museum of Egyptian culture. During these long lonely nights he is repeatedly drawn to a statue representing the seductive ancient goddess ISHTAR. He becomes more and more allured by the goddess as she speaks to him in visions. Eventually he succumbs to her deadly charms.
Horror Vault's take
When struggling American diner owner Fuad Ramses takes a night job at a Parisian museum of Egyptian antiquities, a hypnotic ancient goddess begins to consume his waking mind. Her whispered visions grow harder to resist, pulling Fuad toward increasingly dark and violent compulsions. This remake of a grindhouse classic transplants its bloody mythology to the streets of France, blending old-school splatter sensibilities with a creeping psychological dread. Devotees of extreme horror will find both a love letter to its source material and a descent into ritualistic madness.
