The premise

The "true" story of what really became of Elvis Presley. We find Elvis as an elderly resident in an East Texas rest home, who switched identities with an Elvis impersonator years before his "death," then missed his chance to switch back. He must team up with JFK and fight an ancient Egyptian mummy for the souls of their fellow residents.

What if Elvis never really died — and what if he ended up forgotten in a Texas nursing home, forced to suit up one last time for the fight of his life? Bubba Ho-tep is a gloriously irreverent cult classic that pairs Bruce Campbell's drawling, jumpsuit-clad King with a fellow resident who believes himself to be JFK, as the two elderly oddballs investigate a string of mysterious deaths plaguing their care home. The culprit turns out to be something ancient, Egyptian, and very hungry for souls. Equal parts deadpan comedy and surprisingly tender character study, the film sneaks genuine pathos in alongside its monster-movie mayhem.
