The premise
In the 1850s, Captain Charles Boone relocates his family of three children to his ancestral home in the small, seemingly sleepy town of Preacher’s Corners, Maine after his wife dies at sea. Charles will soon have to confront the secrets of his family’s sordid history, and fight to end the darkness that has plagued the Boones for generations.

Set in the fog-laden 1850s New England coast, Chapelwaite follows a grief-stricken sea captain who uproots his three children to claim his crumbling family estate — only to discover that the Boone name carries a weight far darker than mere reputation. Based on a Stephen King short story, the series unravels generations of buried evil lurking beneath the surface of a tight-lipped Maine town. Adrien Brody anchors the show with a haunted, commanding performance as a father desperately trying to protect his family from forces he is only beginning to understand. Gothic atmosphere and slow-burn dread replace cheap scares, rewarding patient viewers with escalating menace.
