The premise

This 2019 reimagining swaps the supernatural soul-transfer of the original for a chilling artificial intelligence angle, grounding the terror in modern anxieties about smart devices and unchecked technology. As Andy grows closer to his new companion, the doll's behavior escalates in deeply disturbing ways, putting everyone around him at risk.
