The premise
After the alleged suicide of her priest brother, Grace travels to the remote Scottish convent where he fell to his death. Distrusting the Church's account, she uncovers murder, sacrilege and a disturbing truth about herself.
Horror Vault's take
When her priest brother dies under suspicious circumstances at a remote Scottish convent, Grace refuses to accept the official story and travels to the isolated religious community to demand answers. What begins as a search for truth quickly descends into something far more disturbing, as the ancient walls of the convent seem to hold secrets that reach beyond the earthly realm. Director Christopher Smith weaves religious dread with psychological unease, anchoring the film in Jena Malone's compelling portrayal of a woman whose investigation forces her to confront unsettling questions about her own past and nature.
