The premise
A small-time wrestling company accepts a well-paying gig in a backwoods town only to learn, too late, that the community is run by a mysterious cult leader with devious plans for their match.
Horror Vault's take
A scrappy independent wrestling troupe trades the bright lights of the big show for a suspicious but lucrative booking deep in rural backwoods country. What seems like an easy payday quickly curdles into something far more sinister when the local community's true nature emerges. With nowhere to run and no one coming to save them, the wrestlers must rely on their toughness inside and outside the ring. Dark Match pits blue-collar grit against backwoods menace in a nasty little genre mashup.
