The premise
Memorial photographer Brock Blennerhasset makes a living out of photographing the dead in Victorian Ireland. When a series of murders threatens to sully Blennerhasset's reputation, a tenacious detective drags him into an investigation of Dublin's criminal underbelly.

Set in the fog-laden streets of Victorian Dublin, Dead Still follows the eccentric Brock Blennerhasset, a memorial photographer whose unsettling trade places him uncomfortably close to the city's dead — and, soon enough, its killers. When murders begin threatening both his business and his name, an unlikely partnership with a determined detective pulls him deep into Dublin's shadowy criminal world. The series blends dark period atmosphere with wry black comedy, building a slow-burn mystery steeped in Victorian attitudes toward death and propriety. Fans of gothic crime dramas with a streak of gallows humour will find plenty to savour here.
