Each episode pairs psychic medium Amy Allan with retired NYPD homicide detective Steve DiSchiavi as they independently examine locations plagued by disturbing paranormal reports. Allan conducts her walk-throughs blind to any case history, using her claimed mediumistic abilities to sense presences, while DiSchiavi digs into the site's dark past through records and witness interviews. The two reconvene at the episode's close to compare findings — often with chilling overlap. Now into its double-digit seasons, the series has built a devoted following among fans of serious-toned paranormal television.
