The premise

A scientist creates Proteus, an organic supercomputer with artificial intelligence which becomes obsessed with human beings, and in particular the creator's wife.

When a brilliant computer scientist unveils Proteus, an eerily self-aware artificial intelligence, he may have built something far more dangerous than a research tool.
