High above the streets of Philadelphia, five strangers find themselves sealed inside a stalled elevator with no obvious means of escape — and no way to know who among them is truly dangerous. As authorities scramble outside and tensions inside the car reach a boiling point, a security guard becomes convinced something far more sinister than a mechanical failure is at work. Based on a story by M. Night Shyamalan, Devil wrings suffocating dread from the simplest of premises: nowhere to run, no one to trust.
