The premise
After being thrown out of medical school for ethical violations, Dr. Peter Blood returns home to a small Cornish village, where he sets up a research laboratory in a secluded cave. There, he attempts to revive the dead, using kidnapped humans -- who he views as unworthy of life -- for their body parts, specifically, their hearts.

Disgraced and dangerous, Dr. Peter Blood retreats to the rugged Cornish coast after his expulsion from medical school, hiding a clandestine laboratory deep within a seaside cave. Driven by an obsessive ambition to conquer death itself, he begins preying on the local community — selecting victims he deems expendable to harvest the raw materials his experiments demand. This early-sixties British chiller blends gothic atmosphere with pulpy mad-science dread, delivering a tale where the real monster wears a white coat.
