The premise

A psychiatrist arrives on a storm-grey island to assess a disturbed teenage girl accused of a horrifying act against an infant, only to find the close-knit community more interested in burying the truth than uncovering it. As she probes deeper into Dorothy's fractured psyche, the line between psychological disorder and something far darker begins to blur. The island's suffocating religiosity and collective hostility make every step of her investigation feel like an intrusion into forbidden territory. What she ultimately uncovers challenges both her clinical certainties and her sense of reality.
