Deep in the unforgiving Tasmanian wilderness, four hikers set out on a search for evidence of the supposedly extinct thylacine — but the remote bush harbors far darker secrets than a lost animal. Local legend speaks of Alexander Pearce, a convicted cannibal hanged in 1824, and the isolated community they encounter suggests his bloodline may never have died out. What begins as a wildlife expedition quickly spirals into a desperate fight against a threat that is disturbingly, inescapably human. Australia's savage landscape becomes as much an enemy as the horrors that stalk the group from within the trees.
