Faces of Death IV1990
Directed by John Alan Schwartz
The premise
Contains more than 50 separate scenes of blood-chilling horror, none of which have ever been seen by the public, depicting a cremation, an electrocution, a terrorist destroyed by his own bomb, the massacre of a Columbian wedding party, the drawing and quartering of a Russian peasant and a man-eating tiger turning on its trainer.
Horror Vault's take
The fourth installment in the notorious Faces of Death franchise assembles over fifty segments purporting to document real-world death and suffering, spanning execution, disaster, animal attacks, and large-scale violence. Presented in the series' signature pseudo-documentary style, it blends staged reconstructions with archival-style footage to deliver maximum shock impact. Few horror franchises have courted as much controversy or debate over the line between legitimate documentary and outright exploitation. Viewer discretion is not just advised — it is essential.
