The premise

Horror junkie Joe Foster gets to live out his ultimate scary movie fantasy courtesy of Fear Inc., a company that specializes in giving you the fright of your life. But as lines blur between what is and is not part of the game, Joe's dream come true begins to look more like a nightmare.

Joe Foster is a self-proclaimed horror obsessive who gets the ultimate gift: a personalized, immersive nightmare engineered by Fear Inc., a mysterious company that custom-designs terrifying experiences for thrill-seeking clients. At first it feels like a dream come true, but as the staged scares grow more intense and the boundaries of the "game" start to dissolve, Joe can no longer trust what's real. Equal parts winking comedy and genuine suspense, the film gleefully plays with slasher conventions while keeping viewers guessing whether the horror around Joe is performance or something far more sinister.
