The premise
Who will be voted queen at Shadyside High's 1988 prom? For underdog Lori, competition is cutthroat even before someone starts killing off the candidates.

It's 1988 in Shadyside, and the race for prom queen is already brutal before the body count starts climbing. Outsider Lori finds herself caught between cutthroat social politics and a very real killer with an axe to grind. Set in R.L. Stine's cursed corner of the world, this Fear Street entry leans hard into the era's slasher playbook while keeping the teen drama front and center. The crown may be the least dangerous thing up for grabs that night.
