The premise
A writer moves to a remote island with his daughter and young son. After settling into their new home, a neighbor arrives to welcome them and give them a breakdown of the local rules; most important: do not go outside when the island's siren starts wailing.
Horror Vault's take
When a writer relocates his children to a secluded Japanese island, the idyllic setting quickly reveals a darker undercurrent — one governed by strict, unspoken rules the locals take deadly seriously. Chief among them: when the siren sounds, no one goes outside. Based on the cult survival-horror video game, the film builds its terror through mounting paranoia and the creeping sense that the island's inhabitants are hiding something far worse than superstition.
