The premise
A psychic housewife and her husband accidentally find a kidnapped girl. Instead of informing the police, they hatch a scheme to get famous by working with the police as a psychic consultant to 'find' the girl. Just when it all seems to go right, everything goes horribly wrong.

When a psychic housewife and her husband stumble upon a kidnapped girl, they make the fateful decision to exploit the situation for fame and recognition rather than do the right thing. What begins as a cold, calculated scheme quietly unravels as forces beyond their control — and perhaps beyond the natural world — begin to close in. Director Kiyoshi Kurosawa brings his signature restrained dread to this Masahiro Shinoda collaboration, letting tension accumulate through long, deliberate takes and suffocating atmosphere. Moral rot and the supernatural prove to be a devastating combination.
