The premise

During WWII, Germans obtain the immortal heart of Frankenstein's monster and transport it to Japan to prevent it being seized by the Allies. Kept in a Hiroshima laboratory, it is seeming lost when the United States destroys the city with the atomic bomb. Years later a wild boy is discovered wandering the streets of the city alone, born of the immortal heart.

Horror Vault's take

When a wartime secret involving the legendary heart of Frankenstein's monster ends up in Hiroshima on the eve of the atomic bombing, the catastrophic blast sets in motion something no scientist could have predicted. Decades later, a strange feral child surfaces in the ruined city, drawing the attention of researchers who begin to suspect a monstrous connection to that long-buried experiment. As the boy grows at an alarming rate, the Japanese countryside faces a threat that blurs the line between victim and destroyer. This Toho co-production fuses the Western Gothic horror tradition with the unmistakable dread of kaiju spectacle.
