The premise
Spain, Basque Country, 17th century. At night and through the mountains, Kattalin escapes from her farmhouse and, while wandering through the deep forest, she senses a presence that stalks her.
Horror Vault's take
In the rugged mountains of 17th-century Basque Country, a young woman named Kattalin flees her farmhouse under cover of night and finds herself swallowed by an ancient, unforgiving forest. Something unseen moves through the darkness with her — patient, watchful, and deeply rooted in the myths of the land. Drawn from Basque folklore, the film transforms the natural world into a place of dread where the boundary between legend and nightmare dissolves. What stalks Kattalin may be far older than any danger she left behind.
