The premise

After Portland homicide detective Nick Burkhardt discovers he's descended from an elite line of criminal profilers known as "Grimms," he increasingly finds his responsibilities as a detective at odds with his new responsibilities as a Grimm.

Portland homicide detective Nick Burkhardt starts noticing something deeply unsettling beneath the surface of ordinary life — and it turns out there's a reason for that. Descended from a long line of hunters called Grimms, Nick must reconcile his sworn duty to uphold the law with a secret war waged against creatures straight out of dark folklore. Each case pulls him deeper into a shadowy world where fairy tales aren't stories — they're warnings.
