The premise
In 1962, amid a spate of unexplained disappearances of local children, a group of misfit friends begin to suspect a long-buried ancient evil lurking. As the kids set out to determine what's really going on, a rising unease prompts several townspeople to work together to restore peace – all while a U.S. military operation seeks to exploit Derry for its own objectives.
Horror Vault's take
Set in 1962, this prequel series peels back the layers of Derry's sinister history long before the Losers' Club ever formed. When children begin vanishing without explanation, a scrappy group of young misfits starts pulling at threads the town's adults would rather leave buried. Meanwhile, uneasy alliances form among certain townspeople determined to confront the darkness, even as outside forces eye Derry for their own purposes. Something ancient and hungry has always called this town home — and it's far from finished feeding.
