The premise
12 year old Tinja is desperate to please her mother, a woman obsessed with presenting the image of a perfect family. One night, Tinja finds a strange egg. What hatches is beyond belief.

Tinja is a young gymnast suffocating under the weight of her mother's relentless pursuit of a flawless family image. When she discovers a mysterious egg and secretly nurtures it, what emerges will force her to confront the darkest corners of her own inner life. This Finnish folk-tinged body horror uses creature terror as a visceral metaphor for adolescent pressure and the cost of impossible expectations. Beautifully crafted and deeply unsettling, it is far more than a standard creature feature.
