The premise

In a Japan torn apart by a zombie plague, a young woman gears up for a brutal cross-country mission with a ragtag crew at her side. The outbreak has a twisted, personal dimension — the source of her torment wears a face she knows all too well. Director Yoshihiro Nishimura unleashes a relentless barrage of over-the-top practical gore and jet-black absurdist energy that pushes the genre into deranged sci-fi territory. Think chainsaw diplomacy, flying body parts, and a zombie hierarchy unlike anything you've seen before.
