The premise
A troubled young girl goes to confession at the local church. Unfortunately, the sexually frustrated priest she confesses to becomes obsessed with her. At first, the priest stalks the girl, but later it is revealed that he will stop at nothing, including blackmail and murder, just to get close to her.

When a young woman seeks solace in the confessional, she unknowingly draws the dangerous attention of a deeply disturbed priest whose devotion has curdled into something far more sinister. What begins as an uneasy feeling of being watched escalates into a waking nightmare as the man of God proves willing to cross every moral and legal line imaginable. Director Pete Walker delivers a grimly effective British shocker that uses the sanctity of the church as the ultimate source of dread. This proto-slasher is as much a portrait of institutional rot as it is a thriller.
