The premise
A sculptor opens a wax museum to showcase the likenesses of famous historical figures, but quickly runs into trouble when his business partner demands the exhibits become more extreme in order to increase profits.
Horror Vault's take
In early 20th-century New York, a passionate wax sculptor's dream of immortalizing history in lifelike figures is shattered by a greedy business partner — setting him on a dark and obsessive path. What emerges is an elegant wax museum with a deeply unsettling secret lurking beneath its polished surface. Vincent Price delivers one of his most iconic performances, balancing charm and menace in equal measure. This stylish Gothic chiller remains a landmark of 1950s horror and a showcase for Price's magnetic screen presence.
