The premise
When Jessica moves back into her childhood home with her family, her youngest stepdaughter Alice develops an eerie attachment to a stuffed bear named Chauncey she finds in the basement. Alice starts playing games with Chauncey that begin playful and become increasingly sinister. As Alice’s behavior becomes more and more concerning, Jessica intervenes only to realize Chauncey is much more than the stuffed toy bear she believed him to be.

When Jessica returns to her childhood home with her blended family, her youngest stepdaughter Alice unearths a worn teddy bear in the basement — and an obsessive bond quickly forms between girl and bear. What starts as innocent make-believe games with Chauncey takes a darkly sinister turn as Alice's behavior grows increasingly alarming. Jessica soon discovers that the threat lurking inside this stuffed toy runs far deeper than any childhood fantasy, and that her own history with the house may hold the key to stopping it.
