The premise
A haunting ghost story set against the backdrop of a busy winter sales period in a department store, following the life of a cursed dress as it passes from person to person, with devastating consequences.

A blood-red dress purchased during the winter sales carries a sinister curse that clings to each new owner with quietly catastrophic results. Peter Strickland's film drifts between deadpan black comedy and genuine unease, wrapping its horror in the rituals of retail and desire. The department store at its centre feels like a fever dream — staffed by figures who speak in hypnotic, unsettling cadences and seem to belong to another era entirely. Expect something closer to a waking nightmare than a conventional chiller.
