Haunted by a childhood tragedy that left him with a hair-trigger temper, Jack Brooks drifts through anger management, a nagging relationship, and boring night school — until his eccentric professor stumbles into something ancient and very, very hungry. What begins as a mundane evening class spirals into an all-out battle against forces that are decidedly not human. Equal parts gross-out creature feature and crowd-pleasing action romp, the film leans hard into practical effects and a gleefully over-the-top tone. Robert Englund clearly relishes every moment of his deliciously unhinged performance.
