The premise
An updated re-telling based in the Gothic South with the Usher Family, led by Mother. The family has been cursed by madness, unrequited love and when Roderick comes home with his girlfriend Morgan, it spells the beginning of the end as her sister Madeline will stop at nothing to prevent their marriage as Morgan fights to take Roderick away from the madness that is the House of Usher.

A modern reimagining of Poe's classic tale transplants the cursed Usher bloodline to the Gothic American South, where a domineering matriarch presides over a household rotting from within. When prodigal son Roderick returns home with an outsider girlfriend, the fragile equilibrium of the family shatters — and his sister Madeline's fierce possessiveness makes it clear that some bonds were never meant to be broken. The crumbling Usher estate becomes a pressure cooker of jealousy, inherited madness, and dark family secrets that press in from every direction. Morgan soon discovers that escaping this family may prove far more difficult than she ever imagined.
