The premise
When a crop of doped-up athletes from the Lakecrest College swim team dive into the campus lake to blow off some steam, the bloodsucking leeches below the surface undergo a stunning transformation. After ingesting small amounts of the swimmers' steroid-laced blood, the slimy creatures grow to unusual sizes and set out to sink their teeth into an unsuspecting student population.
Horror Vault's take
When the buff swimmers of Lakecrest College take a late-night dip, they unknowingly share something dangerous with the lake's resident leeches — their steroid-saturated blood. The creatures that emerge from the water are far larger and far hungrier than anything nature intended. What begins as a lazy campus evening quickly spirals into a fight for survival as an unsuspecting student body becomes the menu. It's low-budget creature chaos with its tongue planted firmly in cheek.
