The premise

A demented serial killer taunts a retired police detective with a series of lurid letters and emails, forcing the ex-cop to undertake a private, and potentially felonious, crusade to bring the killer to justice before he can strike again.

When a monstrous killer begins taunting a recently retired detective with twisted messages, the ex-cop finds himself pulled back into a dangerous pursuit he can't walk away from. The hunter and the hunted grow dangerously close as the investigation pushes into morally grey territory. Brendan Gleeson anchors this slow-burn thriller with a portrait of a man who can't let go — of the badge, the guilt, or the monster.
