The premise
Forced into early retirement by a degenerative illness, former baseball player Ray Waller moves into a new house with his wife and two children. He hopes that the backyard swimming pool will be fun for the kids and provide physical therapy for himself. However, a dark secret from the home's past soon unleashes a malevolent force that drags the family into the depths of inescapable terror.

When a retired professional baseball player relocates his family to a new home, he sees the backyard pool as both a recreational haven and a lifeline for his deteriorating health. But the water holds something ancient and malevolent — and it has no intention of letting the Wallers simply swim away. What begins as a hopeful fresh start curdles into a waking nightmare rooted in the property's sinister history. The family soon discovers that some forces cannot be drained, covered, or escaped.
