The premise

When Maureen Coyle, a suicidal nun who resembles Norman's former victim, Marion Crane, arrives at the motel, all bets are off and "Mother" is less than happy.

Horror Vault's take

Norman Bates is back behind the Bates Motel front desk, but his fragile grip on sanity is tested anew when a troubled young woman with an uncanny resemblance to a ghost from his past checks in. Anthony Perkins — who also steps behind the camera to direct — delivers a deeply unnerving portrait of a man perpetually at war with the darkness inside him. New faces arrive at the motel, each unaware of the horrors its walls have witnessed, and 'Mother' is not about to stay quiet. The result is a grimier, more visceral chapter in Norman's story that leans into both psychological dread and outright gore.
